Daily Prompt – January 2, 2026

I try to play in my daily life. Some days thats easier than others. Life has a way of messing with best laid plans. Generally however, I try to stop all my stressful type work be that my actual job or school work by 6pm. After that, focus is on my hobbies and creative activities. I also take every Thursday as a break day. Not from work but from school. This started when I had therapy every Thursday and my therapist and I set a rule that I wouldn’t do school on therapy days. Now I have therapy less frequently but expanded the rule to ensure one day that is a break. I don’t do it on therapy days weekend because focusing on school on the weekend is often easier than during the week and I can often do more because there are less demands on my time.

“Playtime” for me is anything that I find fun. It can be as simple as being silly with my partner or working on a craft. It can also be more challenging things like working on my social media. I put a lot of energy into how my Twitch is set up and learning new tools for it is fun for me. I think thats the key, playtime is fun time.
