Name an attraction or town close to home that you still haven’t got around to visiting.
So I moved to Florida almost 3 years ago. Specifically to the Tampa area. I don’t know everything thats around here. It’s still all very new. That means this is a difficult question to answer.
I decided to ask my partner who’s been living here like 16 years or something like that. They named off a bunch of places I didn’t know existed or well I knew the city or town existed but not the attraction. It’s also hard in Florida to determine what’s close to home. Here it takes us and hour and a half to two hours to get to Disney or Universal Studios which are 80ish miles and in the middle of the state compared to us. It can also take that same amount of time to get to Saint Petersburg which is less than 50 miles away.
Close to home is an odd thing down here. I mean Miami isn’t close to home, it’s on the opposite coast and takes 4 hrs to drive at least. It’s somewhere we typically go by train. At the same time, I remember my husband taking me to a shop in a town one county over and the owner feeling bad that we drove an hour to get there. It was 34 miles away. Back in the DC Metro area where we came from it would have taken 3 hours to get that far most days.
Anyway, the truth is there are lots of places and attractions around me that I haven’t visited yet. I don’t even know what they all are. I’m still new and still finding things. Even in the places I’ve been like in Tampa proper and Ybor and St. Pete’s I find new things all the time.
This is fun of moving somewhere new.
