Daily Prompt – February 8, 2026

My favorite candy is impossible to find and also impossible to get out of my head. I haven’t had it for over a decade yet the taste of it lives in my memory as if I had it seconds ago. I have been on a quest to find this for years. I don’t know if its just not made any more of was only made for the store I used to get it from and therefore I am struggling to find it now that I live far from there.

My favorite candy is this sour pink grapefruit gummy candy. The key is its pink grapefruit. The smell of pink grapefruit alone is a favorite scent. It is an arousing scent for me. I used to have pink grapefruit body wash and lotion from a store in the mall I worked at. That is also where I found this candy. We had a candy store there, you know the kind with the bins that you scoop candy in to bags and you can make whatever mix you want because you pay by the pound? That where I found it. I still check every store like that for this candy. I’ve found grapefruit candy I like in the process, but none as amazing as this candy.

It was similar to the sour watermelon gummy candy that you can also find in these stores. Not the mass marketed ones that look like a watermelon cut in half and then sliced. I’m talking about the wedge shaped ones. My candy was a rough wedge shape, pink with a yellow edge to it. Nothing clearly defined, all sort of rough and blended together and coated in sour salt. It wasn’t super sour either. Just the right amount to complement the pink grapefruit flavor.

My mouth is watering just thinking about this candy. I hate not being able to find it. If you know who makes this or where to find it. I don’t care where I need it!
