What movies or TV series have you watched more than 5 times?
This is an easy one. There is only one TV series that I have watched this many times. Star Trek: The Next Generation.
ST:TNG is my go to comfort show. I love rewatching it. I love introducing new people to it. The first season or 2 are horrible in comparison to where the show ends up quality wise but that has as much to do with the times as any thing else. It did air for 7 seasons after all.
I love the continuity in the show. There are moments in later seasons that so seamlessly call back to earlier ones, you would think that the writers wrote all 7 seasons in one sitting. I love the science in the show. I love the values in it. I love Jean Luc Picard.
Ok, I mean, it’s Patrick Stewart, how can you not love him? But honestly, he is the best Star Trek Captain. His character growth is so fun. All of the characters are. And the way they blended characters to transition to new series like Deep Space Nine. Sigh. Masterful.
Yes, I’m a fan, a Trekkie if you will. I admit it. I don’t think there will ever be a time that an episode of TNG will not be appealing, even when nothing else will. It’s my warm blanket and cup of hot tea on a cold, rainy morning. Earl Grey of course.
