So I had every intention of doing more with the March of Robots art challenge but as I started working on it, I found myself uninspired. Robots just don’t interest me. I was also running into a constant problem for me. I had big ideas and no real way to implement them. I had ideas in my head that I just couldn’t bring to life.
I did get the “crown” prompt done. I also combined “rain”, “hide”, “listen”, and “robot head 02” into one picture.
I’m going to briefly go over each of these and then this will be the final March of Robots post.
Crown

For Crown, I drew this using stencils much like the other pieces for this challenge. I tried to have fun but ultimately it’s a very silly looking robot with a crown on his head. It’s not my favorite.
Rain, Listen, Hide & Robot Head 02

This one is a pencil sketch. I feel more proud of this one because while I did use some stencils, I also did a lot of perspective work to create a picture in dimensional space. I haven’t don that for some time. It was fun to get back to it and it’s still something I am comfortable with because I’m still using straight edges to ensure my lines are clean. The idea here is the little robot is afraid of the storm so he is hiding under the table while his head stays out and listens for the rain to stop.
Overall, I’m glad that I tried this challenge. I am also proud of myself for recognizing that pushing myself to do it was not wise.
