If you could have something named after you, what would it be?
It took me a bit of thinking to come up with the answer to this and I don’t believe it will ever happen as I’m not involved in this area of scientific research to warrant it, but I would love for a bacteria, virus or disease to be named after me.
This goes back to my original hope of being a biochemist and involved in medical research. When you discover it, you name it and often it is named after you. Not always, and knowing me, I would shy away from that but it is something I could see appreciating someone else doing for me.
Now, technically of the things I listed, a disease could be named after me without being in research. Only thing its, that is something I would not want. To have a disease named after you when not the doctor or scientist who discovered it means you were patient zero for the disease and that doesn’t sound too awesome.
The truth of the matter is I don’t really care if something is named after me. It would be cool for sure and it would make me feel special. But I’d much rather be remembered because what I did was special and memorable not because it bears my name. It’s just not my style.
