What would you do if you won the lottery?
I feel like this question was inevitable when doing daily prompts. Anyway…
If I won the lottery, the things I would do would depend on how much I won but we’ll assume this is a multimillion dollar or even billion dollar prize. First thing is I would take the annuity, I would rather have an in flux of cash to work with over many years than one lump sum.
Once I had the money, I would start by paying off bills, the mortgage, the cars, etc. Whatever we could pay off or pay down. We’d do that with each payment until no debts were left. After that I’d put money into retirement and other savings but also book vacations, One or 2 really good vacations per payout should do it. There would be charitable donations but they would be smaller and dispersed through a number of different organizations and causes.
Of course these are all wonderful hypothetical plans. I don’t play the lottery, so I can’t win it. It would be lovely to have that kind of money to not stress about things but I just can’t justify the odds.

I think if you won the lottery you can pay all those bills in one shot, be debt free and go on all kinds of vacations 🙂

Perhaps, I tend to err on the practical side so since I said I would be taking the annuity, I dont want to count on anything

I still this even on a mil the annuity will make you quite happy and bill free. I would not take the lump some either. But I have to play too and I don’t, I never even get one number when I play.

Considering we just bought our house im not sure about that bill free part but it would definitely help!
