Tell us about your favorite pair of shoes, and where they’ve taken you.
I hate shoes. I don’t really have a favorite pair. I have shoes I wear the most because they are comfortable. I have the shoes I were pretty consistently to work because they fit right, are professional, and are comfortable. But if I had my choice I’d be barefoot everywhere all the time.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand why shoes are needed in many situations. I just wish it wasn’t so. I also wish I had better feelings about shoes, because I also love shoes. Confused yet? Wondering if I’m actually going to answer the prompt? Good, so am I and no, I’m not.
I love shoes in that I love looking at shoes and the variety of aesthetics available in shoes. I hate shoes because none of those aesthetics that I enjoy looking at fit me. I have small, wide feet with a high toe box and a complicated arch. If you don’t understand parts that, you are lucky, you’ve never struggled by shoes I’d bet. It basically means it’s extremely hard for me to find shoes that fit, doesn’t matter the style. And to add insult to injury, because I am also extremely sensory sensitive, the texture of the shoe can be a problem and that can also change from day to day. A shoe that feels great on one day or when I bought it can feel horrible and uncomfortable the next.
So no I’m not going to tell you where my favorite shoes have taken me because I don’t have any.
