Daily Prompt – March 7, 2026

What is the last thing you learned?

Are we talking about like life lesson? About myself? In school? Skill wise? I mean once again there are so many directions I can take this. The fact is we never stop learning.

I use a daily journal. I like the kinds that have prompts and a morning and night section. The one I’m currently using, “The Five Minute Journal” ends every day with “What did I learn today?” It’s a great way to reflect on the day and think about even the small lessons we learn during the day.

For example, yesterday, I wrote that I learned that too much senseless chatter equals big overwhelm. It’s not exactly that I didn’t know this but often, it’s something I forget because I’ve gotten so used to coping with these things and then struggling later. However yesterday, I was at the salon for a bit of spa day for my birthday and my stylist was chattering away even though I was clearly not engaging and was very much trying to relax. Add to that, the fact that she was running behind and she talks with her hands so all that talking meant not actually working on my hair and I was just getting closer and closer to a meltdown. I try very hard to avoid those in public spaces and fortunately my salon is a private suite that she leases and she was the only one in yesterday but still as much as we are friends, it’s uncomfortable. So I wrote that I learned that because the more I write that lesson down, the more likely I am to set that boundary in the future.

If you aren’t already reflecting on what you learned each day, I highly recommend it. It’s an amazing mindfulness practice that can really help you find peace in your world and bring clarity to the life you live. Also, I don’t usually do any product placements but I really have enjoyed the “Five Minute Journal” as well as “The Three Question Journal” so I recommend checking them out or any of the journals at https://www.intelligentchange.com. Something there is bound to suit your needs. I am in no way paid to say this either.
