Daily Prompt – April 6, 2026

Ok talk about subjective questions. If you aren’t a fan of cats you are going to say they make the worst pets or if you love them you are going to say they make great ones. This goes for almost any animal. I say this with the knowledge that there’s probably some we can universally agree make horrible pets because they aren’t meant to be domesticated. Like lions and such should not be pets. But when thinking about the animals we currently have domesticated, I think they can all make fabulous pets if you are prepared for the work each entails and you enjoy that animal.

For me, dogs and cats are great. I prefer cats over dogs but thats a convenience thing and knowing how my life works thing more than anything against a dog. Hamsters and gerbils are the devil mostly because they aren’t nocturnal and like to chew on things. But if you have kids maybe they are go? I don’t know like I said this is subjective. I loved having Guinea pigs and rabbits but they don’t live very long and it’s sad.

So I’m gonna stick to cats and dogs.
