Daily Prompt – June 21, 2026

Don’t aim for success, aim for joy or passion. If your sole focus in life is being successful you will never actually achieve success. You may become wealthy or proficient at your chosen career path but not successful. Success isn’t found in wealth and proficiency without joy or passion is a robot.

The things I feel most successful about in my life, are the things I tackle with passion. The things that bring me a bit of joy to do. They are the things I do because I want to, not because I have to or because they make me money. Take twitch streaming for example. I am finding success with that despite my fears to the contrary. I may even see a tiny payment from it before the end of the year. However, I don’t do it for the money. I do it because I love it. I love the people and community I am meeting. I do it because it makes me happy to sit and color for hours and share that with others.

Same thing with this blog, which I will eventually do more than daily prompt posts for. It makes me happy to have the creative thought and writing exercise and while I’m certainly not the most popular blog out there, I have subscribers and I get engagement occasionally. More importantly I love doing this and never want to miss a day. That passion and desire to be consistent will bring success.

This why I don’t know if I will ever be successful on YouTube. I want to be better there but right now I don’t have the drive or passion to put in the effort. I will get there one day, I just need more time to devote to it. But even then it will be about finding the joy in doing it. If it continues to feel like a chore, I will stop.
