Daily Prompt – July 28, 2026

Too many of them? One of the major features of my AuDHD is a lovely form of musical echololia. I randomly start humming or singing songs that pop into my head. I mesh them together, they make no sense a lot of the time. I will start humming Christmas carols or Jewish folk songs. All kinds of things. The most “fun” is when someone says something, it can be as simple as a word or 2 and that triggers the song in my head. It has happened reading things or during conversations. Sometimes the most innocuous stuff can do it. For example, I have a coloring book called “Dream Voyages” that I just glanced at but because I have music on the brain, that title trigger “dream a little dream of me” in my head. I have never once connected those 2 before this but now I probably wont be able to stop. Another example is this prompt. I probably ran through 5 or 10 different lyrics in 30 seconds or less when thinking about what to write about.
