Daily Prompt – August 28, 2026

Thirteen years ago I met someone on a dating site. We had a really good connection and hit off and all that. To my knowledge we didn’t know anyone in common. We traveled in very different circles, he had spent years living in New Orleans while I had been in Virginia the whole time. I was born in Maryland, he was born in Virginia. You get the idea. Anyway, after dating for like a month or so, we finally friended each other on facebook and I found out that he was friends with a friend of mine who had passed away not long before we met. It’s likely that we were at the funeral together and didn’t know it. We never met each other while hanging out with her yet it’s hard not to feel like in some karmic kind of way she brought us together. I’m no longer with him but we’re still friends and he was an important part of my post divorce journey.
