Daily Prompt – August 31, 2026

This is an interesting question. Kindness comes in many forms. How does one determine what the kindest thing is when the various ways people can be kind can be like comparing apples to tires.

I think for me, the best way to look at this is how that particular act of kindness impacted me. Monetary and physical gifts are an act of kindness, especially when unprompted and reflective of the way a person knows you. But for me, while I cherish them, they do not have the same impact as other acts. I think for me, the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me, and this applies to many people at this point in my life, is take an active and engaged interest in my life. To be invested in my happiness and my success. Not because it benefits them but because they want it for me.
