March of Robots Days 2 & 3: Upgrade and Refresh

I decided to combines days 2 & 3 because I had an idea for a drawing that put them together. The drawing is very basic and not nearly as detailed as it was in my head but this is often the case for creative endeavors with me. Big ideas that are harder to execute. If I had more practice with drawing things in dimensional space or drawing in general I might have pulled it off.

I don’t have that, at least not yet. Maybe as I continue to do these different challenges but for now its about learning how to pivot and adapt to tell the story I want to tell with the skills and tools I have.

In this case I wanted to show the story of a robot going through a conveyor belt that provided a refresh of fluids and upgrade options. It’s the story of the the little robot who got a glow-up.

As with the first prompt of this challenge. I used stencils to sketch most of this. I did free hand the lettering and I will say that all my time writing with fountain pens has definitely improved my hand writing. Once sketched. I inked the drawing with multiple fountain pens to add color and to make the lines more clear. I only colored the little arrows on the belt completely for accent.

I like to think of this a a blueprint type drawing for the concept of this robot glow-up business venture.
