Daily Prompt – April 10, 2026

This is an easy one, moving to Florida. Now I know all the jokes and negative things people have to say about this state but for me and my husband this was an extremely positive change. I honestly can’t believe I argued with him when he first suggested it.

Moving here means more sunshine and color. It also means more warm days. This is great because it means I get outside more. I get to work outside when I work from home. I set up a lovely little space on our lanai that I can work in even when it rains, and it does rain. I am surrounded by nature just the way I like it but unlike our home in Virginia that nature doesn’t shrivel up in the winter and theres no snow.

I moved to the best job I’ve had in almost 30 years of working. I get to use all the knowledge from all different jobs I’ve had in my life and learn new things as well. I have a great team that I work with and an amazing, supportive boss. I feel valued and respected for the first time in a very long time when it comes to work.

My relationship with my husband and my partner both have flourished with this move. My husband and I are closer than we ever have been. Yes, some of that is 10 years together but a lot of it is the improvement to both of our mental health in this environment. My partner and I have overcome some huge obstacles and are growing closer and closer. We have an amazing relationship that far surpasses anything I dreamed of when I first met them.

So, yeah moving here was a really positive change in my life. There have been many but this is the one I feel most proud of at the moment.
