How do you unwind after a demanding day?

Color. For once I have a simple answer to this question. Without a doubt the one thing that I can always count on to help me unwind after a demanding day is background noise like a tv show and a coloring book. Focusing on the details and coloring in the shapes on the page is the one thing that has always helped turn off my brain and helped me decompress from basically any situation.

There is a reason that adult coloring has become so popular. If you’ve never tried it, I highly recommend it. It is so therapeutic. I have been using it to help with stress and anxiety for over 20 years. It is always the thing that will work when nothing else will.

You don’t need to worry about being good at it or doing it “right” just do it. Pick up some pens or pencils or markers or even crayons and just color. Whatever you want however you want and watch how quickly your brain chills out!
