What makes you nervous?
I can’t help but chuckle at this. I’m an AuDHD female with anxiety and you want to know what makes me nervous? First, how do I differentiate nervous from anxious? They feel the same. Are they the same? I mean I think they are different reactions but they overlap like I can say that I’m nervous about being in a car accident but thats really more anxious right? I could also say public speaking makes me anxious but maybe nervous is more accurate?
Maybe it’s semantics and I’m over thinking the difference, thats quite likely.
Here is what I do know, in some way, shape, or form all most everything makes me nervous. I constantly fear failure so I am nervous about doing things correctly and well. I am nervous about the impressions I make and/or leave on people, especially when I’m nervous or upset about other things. Being in the car on the highway makes me nervous even when I’m not driving. My health which really is generally good makes me nervous because I always fear I’m ignoring or missing something.
The list could go on forever. The key here is how much I let all of these things impact my daily life. I’m still working on addressing some of the bigger ones but the smaller, less rational ones I have learned to basically ignore. I may be nervous about them or anxious, whatever the best term is, but I don’t let it derail me or interfere with the things I have to do. I can’t afford that.
So I guess the answer to the question is life but so what?
