Daily Prompt – April 29, 2026

Yes, many times in my life. I actually go camping at least once a year with a group of friends. We attend a big event that happens on a beautiful camp grounds and some people stay in cabins and some of use tents. My husband and I use a tent. We bring a huge set up with us. A tent, king size air mattress, side tables, 2 ez-ups, a blackstone griddle for meals, camp chairs. It’s a whole thing. We are there for a week after all.

It’s a much better experience with camping than when I was a kid. I hated camping as a kid. I think a lot of that had to do with being forced to do it plus not fitting in with the other kids. But also it was no indoor plumbing and we were forced to do all kinds of activities that I hated. It was a team building thing but it was miserable.

Now camping is fun. It’s people I want to spend time with. How I spend my time is up to me. Even though we stay in a tent, we have access to plumbing. The camp grounds has an amazing vibe to it, you instantly relax when you get there, it’s just how it is.

I honestly didn’t think I would ever enjoy camping after my experiences as a kid but I look forward to our annual trips now. They are a reset.
