Daily Prompt – June 11, 2026

I struggle to answer this because America is very diverse and I think mistakes people make when traveling here can vary greatly depending on where they are traveling to. That said, I will do my best to answer the broader question.

I think people get caught up in tourist traps and miss the really beauty and excitement America can offer. I think people forget we don’t do a lot of things the way the rest of the world does, even when the general consensus is we should. This means they forget that tips are a thing. They forget that we aren’t on the metric system. They don’t realize how vastly different the laws and culture can be from one state, or even within a state can be.

Of course, I could be totally of base with this. I’ve never had someone visit me from another country so I don’t have much experience to base things on.

Hopefully these wild assumptions aren’t too far off base and I didn’t offend too many people
