Daily Prompt – June 28, 2026

Ok, I know it says 1 challenger and technically I am only nominating 1, I’m just proposing 2 options because I don’t know if I’m allowed to go outside the Star Wars universe or not. I’ll start with my first choice which is not in the Star Wars universe and then explain my backup plan in case the judges rule it must be with in the universe,

Option 1: Captain Kathryn Janeway of the U.S.S. Voyager. I nominate Captain Janeway because she was the only Star Fleet Captain smart enough to humble and out smart Q. She also faced the Borg and survived numerous times. She has a track record for putting her crew first and doing what ever it takes to ensure their survival. She is also excellent at delegating and relying on the resources she has available. Finally, while she is a skilled diplomat, she is not afraid of a fight if necessary.

Option 2 (if Star Wars is required): Princess Leia. I don’t know how much explanation is needed here. She gets under Vader and the Emperor’s skin better than anyone. She is a skilled and revered leader. She was destined for the job.

Ultimately I don’t care as long as we put a woman in charge. It’s time.
