What’s a quote that perfectly describes your outlook on life?
Normally when asked for a quote I default to literary ones or maybe something from a movie or TV show. This time however, I have a quote from Will Smith that isn’t from anywhere in particular. Just a good life lesson. It was in a journal I was filling out daily and had motivational quotes.
This really stuck with me: “Don’t chase people. Be yourself, do your own thing and work hard – the ones who really belong in your life – will come to you. And stay.”
I am or at least was a chronic people pleaser and reminding myself of this is essential to my peace. It has also meant I have the right people in my life and have an easier time walking away from those who only suck energy.
