Daily Prompt – May 19, 2026

A simple pleasure in life that brings me joy is watching the sun rise. Don’t get me wrong, sunsets are amazing, especially over the ocean and something I don’t get to do often enough even though I’m not far from it. Still there’s something more serene about sunrise. It’s the start of the day, a chance to set your intentions. Being able to watch the sun come up always makes me feel hopeful and at peace. To me, these sensations are elements of joy in a chaotic and challenging world. There’s something about the fresh start of the sunrise that makes it feel like none of the other stuff matters and that it’s all gonna be ok. Lucky for me, I get a great view of the sun rising each morning from my favorite spot on the couch.
