What villain actually had a good point?
This idea of villain is a very broad category that I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around this early in the morning. I think the truth is almost any villain has a good point, in a way. They exist in stories to teach us lessons. Without conflict, theres no growth. Villains provide conflict. That conflict often stems a morality disagreement. While villains are often on the wrong side of our moral compass, being able to understand why they see things the way they do, why they act the way they do, is important to the hero’s growth. In their actions there is often a lesson. Not to mention, as discussed in a recent blog, a little bit of chaos is good.
